Security of the Future Kazakhstan
Ministry of Energy explained how Kazakhstani facilities are protected from drones and cyberattacks
In Kazakhstan, by the end of the year, a register of priority AI solutions and a cyber-physical security architecture will be approved to protect the fuel and energy complex. Energy facilities vulnerable to cyberattacks and drones remain at risk.
How it works
The Ministry of Energy combines the tasks of cyber protection and physical protection of facilities within the framework of the ACR Center being created. Cyber protection includes identifying threats and practicing specialists' actions during cyberattacks, while physical protection includes detecting and neutralizing drones.
Why it matters
This concerns facilities for extraction, processing, storage and transportation of energy resources throughout Kazakhstan, so a failure in their operation directly affects businesses and citizens.
What to do
For businesses
Assess the security of your energy facilities against cyber threats and drones.
Monitor industry cyber exercises and implement industry standards for cyber-physical security.
